Hogan Lovells advises Allianz Direct on its insurance distribution partnership with ING in the Netherlands
A cross-border team from Hogan Lovells in Spain and the Netherlands has advised Allianz Direct on its strategic agreement for the distribution of a wide-range of insurance products with ING in the Netherlands
Hogan Lovells has advised Allianz Direct, the pan-European digital insurer of the Allianz Group, on the arrangement of a new insurance distribution partnership in the Netherlands with ING, the country's number one digital bank.
The cross-border team at Hogan Lovells was led by Felipe Vázquez Acedo (Madrid), who was supported by Victor de Vlaam and Jacob Hoogslag (Amsterdam), and Gonzalo F. Gállego, Juan Ramón Robles and Boris Urquizu (Madrid). On behalf of Allianz, the in-house legal team was led by Thorben Eisenbeiss, Head of Legal & Compliance at Allianz Direct.
The nature of the deal between the two financial groups has led to the creation of this highly innovative and digitally focused strategic insurance distribution agreement, in which Allianz Direct becomes a strategic partner of ING to make a wide range of insurance products available to ING customers from around mid-2024.
This transaction reflects, once again, the international character and specialization of Hogan Lovells' teams in advising on highly-complex and cross-border bancassurance schemes.
