In 2013 Mexico adopted a highly aggressive energy policy and strategy, seeking to increase investment in clean energy, and move to a liberalized and sophisticated energy market. However, the Mexican President’s (AMLO) view of the energy sector is completely different. He believes in a centralized energy industry, with the State as main player, and away from a liberalized model.
