It’s no secret that Geopolitical Risk and National Security issues are topping board-level risk assessments as well as creating significant uncertainty for cross-border business strategies and global investment plans. But where does one start unpacking these complex and global issues that have profound implications for business, encompassing everything from supply chains to government relations to economic security to cybersecurity, and beyond? In our new global discussion series, senior members of the from Hogan Lovells’ Geopolitical Risk and National Security practice will gather with global business, government, and legal leaders to examine the key drivers, risks and opportunities arising from increased Geopolitical Risk and National Security.

Join us in London on 9 September, where we will be joined by leading speakers from the world of policy, academia and business to discuss how Foreign Direct Investment is impacted by Geopolitical Risk and National Security. Our keynote address will be delivered by Jacqui Ward, Director, Investment Security Unit in the Cabinet Office and will cover recent developments and trends in the operation of the UK National Security and Investment regime and areas which may come under review following the recent response to the Call for Evidence and the change of Government. This will be followed by Q&A.

There will then be a panel discussion on the origins of the key threats to economic and national security; the ways in which jurisdictions are building mechanisms in response to protect against those threats; the evolution of FDI regimes; and, the perspective of business as a key interlocutor.

The discussions will conclude with a networking reception at 6pm, providing an opportunity to connect with industry leaders and policymakers.
