Randall Walker is a partner in the international arbitration practice based in Dubai and Riyadh.  He has acted as counsel in international arbitration and commercial litigation proceedings, as well as in investigations, expert determinations and other forms of ADR. 

Randall advises and represents clients in relation to complex disputes and investigations under a variety of civil and common law systems across of range of industries.  He has advised and acted in relation to general commercial and corporate claims (including joint venture and shareholder disputes), insurance matters, fraud and asset recovery, and claims arising out of energy (oil & gas and power) and infrastructure/construction projects in international arbitations and court proceedings.

Acting for an Emirati company in an LCIA arbitration in relation to a claim arising from a suite of loan documents.  Related proceedings in the Cayman Islands.

 

Acting for a global insurance company in a dispute with its joint venture partner and shareholder in the DIFC Courts.

Acting for the developer of the world’s largest new build petrochemical plant in KSA in relation to four ICC arbitrations concerning EPC contract claims, defective design and performance.

Acting for a Pakistani commodities company in an LCIA arbitration with its trading party concerning the sale of fertiliser in Kenya.

Acting for a Dubai-based corporate services company in a dispute with UAE and Saudia Arabian parties in large multi-party shareholder dispute.*

Advising a Japanese company in relation to allegations of bribery concerning a project in Asia.

Represented an international oil and gas company in a dispute with its EPC contractor concerning a US$1.3bn project for the construction of central processing facilities in Iraq.*

Represented an independent oil and gas exploration company in a US$130m dispute with its joint venture partner arising out of a joint venture agreement.*

Acting for a pharmaceuticals company in relation to disputes with its commercial agent in Saudi Arabia.*

Advised an international oil and gas company related to various claims concerning two exploration blocks in Kurdistan, including against the KRG, its JV partner, and a potential purchaser.*

Represented a joint venture of international contractors on a significant rail infrastructure project in Dubai, including disputes with the sub-contractors, bond proceedings, and consortium partner.*

Represented an international oil and gas exploration company, as operator, in two separate multiparty disputes concerning cash calls and related defaults with joint venture partners in West Africa.*

Advised an international contractor in respect of the construction of a railway project in Abu Dhabi which is the largest rail project in the region currently.*

Represented an international oil supermajor subsidiary connected to the termination of agreements relating to the production/transportation of gas from offshore fields in the UK.*

Advised an international EPC contractor concerning a petrochemical facility in Saudi Arabia, which included disputes in the local Dammam courts with a sub-contractor and the employer.*

Represented an oil and gas company in disputes with its contractor concerning the construction of four offshore topsides.*

Represented an Omani conglomerate in relation to potential sanctions issues concerning a possible re-entry into Syria and associated investment treaty protections.*

Advised one of the world’s largest independent power producers in a dispute with a Central Asian government concerning the interpretation of the parties' implementing and power purchasing Agreements.*

Represented an oil and gas company in disputes with its drilling contractor concerning the performance of drilling operations for two onshore wells in Africa.*
