Rodrigo Sánchez

He has represented corporations before Mexican local and federal courts, as well as before arbitral tribunals including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, Arbitration Center of Mexico (Centro de Arbitraje México), and ad hoc arbitral tribunals.

Rodrigo is also devoted to pro bono matters. He participated in the representation of a Peruvian transgender woman as well as two Salvadorian children in affirmative asylum applications to the U.S.

While obtaining his master's degree in international law, Rodrigo honed his skills competing in Georgetown University's International Arbitration Moot Team. He also participated in the 2014 LL.M International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition, organized by the American University Washington College of Law. He gained real-world experience via an externship in the Mexican Embassy, working for the Legal Counsel for International Trade.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Rodrigo was a litigation associate at a top-tier tax law firm in Mexico. There, he successfully litigated one of the first cases presented in Mexico with respect to the tax authorities' power to determine "simulation of acts" for taxation purposes.
