Laura Pappas advises clients on the design, draft, and implementation of compensation structures, including equity-based and cash-based incentive programs and non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements.
Laura is an associate in the firm’s Employee Benefits and Executive compensation practice, where her practice focuses on compensation and benefits matters, largely in connection with corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, and initial public offerings.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Laura worked in Ernst & Young’s People Advisory Services practice where she advised publicly-traded and privately-held companies on tax implications related to executive compensation and employee benefit matters, including short and long-term incentive plans and deferred compensation arrangements.
Laura received her LL.M. and J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2020. During law school, Laura was on the Editorial Board of the San Diego International Law Journal and was a Judicial Extern at the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California. Additionally, Laura volunteered with the Federal Tax Clinic where she advocated on behalf of low-income taxpayers who had on-going disputes with the Internal Revenue Service.
In addition to her legal practice, Laura is passionate about volunteering to increase access to education and is an active volunteer with Los Angeles based educational non-profits.

Representing Life Storage in its successful defense of a hostile takeover attempt and subsequent US$12.7bn friendly merger with Extra Space Storage.
