Hogan Lovells trial team named Law360 Trials Group of the Year
From the largest wrongful conviction verdict in history to a rare win in court against the Federal Trade Commission, the Hogan Lovells trial team is honored to be named a Law360 Trials Group of the Year.
We are pleased to share that the Hogan Lovells Trials team has been recognized for its superlative work in 2021 by being named a Law360 Trials Group of the Year - one of five practice areas in which the firm has been recognized for excellence last year.
For 12 years, Law360 has chosen its annual practice area honorees "with an eye toward landmark matters and general excellence."
Hogan Lovells trial lawyers excelled on both fronts in 2021: The team notched a US$152 million trade secrets verdict for software company ResMan LLC and helped two exonerees, Henry McCollum and Leon Brown, win a record US$113 million in a landmark wrongful murder conviction trial.
Law360 also highlighted Hogan Lovells' victory against the Federal Trade Commission at an evidentiary hearing in which the firm convinced a Pennsylvania federal judge to allow a US$599 million merger between Philadelphia-based health care systems Jefferson Health and Albert Einstein Healthcare Network to proceed. That decision marked the first time since 1999 that the FTC had lost a legal challenge to a hospital merger.
As partner and practice leader for Americas Litigation Tom Connally indicated to Law360, Hogan Lovells is proud of its global preeminence in trial litigation. "We're very focused on both promoting the fantastic trial work that we're doing and growing the next generation of great trial lawyers at the firm," he said.
