Hogan Lovells teams up with PeaceTech Lab to amplify racial justice work with free technology workshops

Hogan Lovells is providing skill-based support to PeaceTech Lab as part of an ongoing three-year partnership, including assistance with planning and design of the workshops, and provision of speakers and funding. 

The series kicked off in Baltimore, Maryland, during October 2020, and has since also convened advocates in Denver, Colorado in February. In both the Baltimore and Denver sessions, Trey Hanbury, a partner in Hogan Lovells’ Global Regulatory practice and the firm’s Communications, Internet and Media working group, presented to participants on data security in the protest context. The Road to Equal Justice will visit Boston next on May 7, 14, and 21, 2021, and activists and organizations interested in participating are encouraged to apply at https://www.rtej.org/.

The three-part workshops bring together advocates from a broad spectrum of social justice organizations, and participation in the workshops is complimentary for eligible leaders and organizations. The workshops focus on amplifying social justice work across the issues of criminal justice reform, economic justice, fair housing, bridging the police-citizen divide, and voting rights. The workshop includes training to help build skills around surveys and data collection, data visualization, mapping, digital security, and media and social media strategies.

The Road to Equal Justice will visit a number of cities across the United States.
