Hogan Lovells continues its strong showing in the Financial Times Innovative Lawyer Awards Asia Pacific 2024

The firm was ranked the 13th Most Innovative Firm in Asia Pacific, up from 18th in 2023, and also achieved “standout” and “commended” in other categories: 

1. In the "Innovative Lawyers in Dispute Resolution" category, standout for securing a precedent-setting victory at China’s highest courts for The LEGO Group. Shanghai Office Managing Partner Katie Feng was nominated for leading toy manufacturer the LEGO group in a complex, groundbreaking, and ultimately successful defense of its Intellectual Property against the world’s largest known counterfeiter. The case was a momentous, innovation-driven win, setting a clear new standard for intellectual property protection and enforcement in China.                                                                                                                                                 
2. In the "Innovation in Knowledge and Data" category, commended for using AI to facilitate and accelerate a DOJ / SEC investigation into Vietnamese bribery and corruption. Singapore counsel Khush Ved and Washington, D.C. partner Peter Spivack combined to lead a project to create a first-of-its kind AI program that would help a client that was facing a whistleblower investigation in Vietnam. Thanks to lawyers in our Vietnam offices, we developed an innovative solution that could not just understand written Vietnamese, but Vietnamese slang and text messaging as well.                                                                                                                   
3. In the "Innovative Lawyers in Unlocking Capital" category, commended for pursuing new growth opportunities through the Japan – India “Investment Corridor”. Tokyo Corporate & Finance partner Jacky Scanlan-Dyas was nominated for her role in promoting business and growth opportunities that capitalize on the long historic links between Japan and India. Jacky developed a strategic focus on promoting and facilitating a Japan-India Investment Corridor.

Additionally, Hong Kong-based International Trade Foreign Legal Consultant Ben Kostrzewa was highlighted for his work developing a practice that incorporates geopolitical analysis, economic security, and international trade.
