Lila Gasca is the Pro Bono Director in our Mexico offices, where she has achieved a great deal of success over the past decade. In 2009, she began her Hogan Lovells career as an associate in charge of pro bono, where she was a leader of corporate social responsibility at the firm. She focuses on advising various civil society organizations, entrepreneurs, and social enterprises on legal matters.
As a renowned leader in the pro bono sector, Lila has been a driving force of pro bono activity in Mexico. Since 2018, Lila has worked towards developing and fostering the Estándares Pro Bono Mexico, a nationwide movement seeking to establish the bases, motivations, and considerations for standardizing pro bono legal work in Mexico.
In terms of social responsibility, Lila has created strategic programs at the firm and developed successful corporate volunteering programs. Lila has broad-based experience as a volunteer. She is the director and founder of the association Anímate a Estudiar A.C., which supports young students in unfavorable financial situations to help them continue their studies.
She was also the founder and treasurer of Anímate a Ayudar in Madrid, aimed at attracting funds for social development programs in Latin American countries. Currently, she is an adviser of Make a Wish Mexico and the Centro Mexicano Pro Bono, A.C. She has also taken part in several corporate social responsibility courses and programs both in Mexico and in Spain.
