James Adams regularly represents both borrowers and lenders in a variety of debt financing arrangements.

James' representative experience covers domestic and cross-border, secured and unsecured finance transactions, including acquisition financings, asset-based and cash flow deals.  He advises clients across multiple industry sectors, including technology, life sciences, manufacturing, energy and natural resources and sports, media and entertainment.  

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, James worked in the New York office of another international law firm. He received his J.D., cum laude, from American University - Washington College of Law in 2010 and graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 2007, where he received a dual B.A. in history and government.

Representative experience

Represented a direct lender in connection with a $50 million asset-based revolver and term loan to a petroleum-based product manufacturer, concurrently with its emergence from bankruptcy.

Represented a direct lender in respect of a $75 million asset-based revolving line of credit to a logistics company focused on providing a cutting-edge digital freight marketplace.

Represented a direct lender in connection with a $250mm unitranche credit facility to a manufacturer of synthetic fibers.

Represented a direct lender as Agent in respect of a $85 million asset-based revolving line of credit to a company engaged in coal mining in the Western United States and Canada. 

Represented a direct lender providing a $22mm acquisition financing to a private equity sponsor in connection with its acquisition of a children's clothing business from a major clothing retailer.  

Represented a direct lender in connection with a $19 million combined revolving and term loan facility to a global medical technology company.

Represented a national bank as Lender in respect of a $4.5 billion asset-based revolving line of credit and a $1.5 billion cash flow-based revolving line of credit to a public health care provider.

Represented a national bank as Lender in respect of a $300 million asset-based revolving line of credit to a national provider of trailer rental and leasing services.

Represented a publicly-traded Caribbean hotel chain in connection with its $1.1 billion primary revolving/term loan facility and $94 million side car term loan facility.

Represented a sovereign government in connection with several unsecured USD, CHF and Euro term loan facilities exceeding $1 billion in the aggregate.

Represented a professional soccer franchise in connection with its $75 million term loan facility.
