Emily is a senior associate in the firm’s Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects team, based in London. She advises on the development of projects across the energy, oil and gas, infrastructure and mining sectors, with a particular focus on power projects and energy transition in the UK and Africa.  

Her work involves drafting and negotiating project documents and construction contracts for a range of clients, including sponsors, lenders, DFI’s, contractors and government agencies. However, she also has experience of, and has worked on, LNG and pipeline projects, UK-based PFI/PPP projects, infrastructure M&A, and real estate development and construction.

Representative experience

Project developers, including ProMarks and Enterprise Power, on the development of interconnector / transmission projects across Africa, including the power supply and offtake arrangements.

The Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance and the National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan on a pathfinder €1.1bn project for a 1,600MW combined cycle gas-fired power project in Uzbekistan.

The Crown Estate in relation to the whole of its offshore energy portfolio in England and Wales, including the leasing arrangements with developers and offshore transmission owners.

Encyclis, Veolia and GIG on the development and project financing of the 60MW Rookery waste-to-energy facility in the UK, including the JV, construction, fuel supply and power offtake arrangements.

The DFI lenders on the development and project financing of a number of projects in Africa, including a geothermal project in Ethiopia and a solar PV project in Zambia. 

A consortium led by bpon the US$45bn Shah Deniz 2 gas project in Azerbaijan, involving a 3,500km gas value chain to Italy.

An energy major on the development of a landmark upstream oil project and gas-to-energy project in Guyana.

UK Government (DESNZ) on possible support and market solutions in response to the energy crisis, including in relation to gas storage.  

Infracapital on its investment in the battery storage and electric transportation transformation business, Zenobē Energy.
