Teaching an Old Dog New Tricks: Adapting EPA’s Enforcement Tools to Modern Challenges?

Lily Chinn joined a panel of environmental enforcement experts at the ABA 53rd Spring Conference on Environmental Law to discuss whether current enforcement tools available to EPA can evolve to tackle emerging priorities of climate change and environmental justice. Panelists considered the efficacy of agency enforcement as compared to other approaches like market-based mechanisms or citizen suits, debated use of cutting edge enforcement strategies and offered strategies to better understand how to advise clients eager to stay out of the spotlight.
