With domestic and international experience, Parikshit Dasgupta’s practice focuses on the commercial, legal and regulatory issues associated with formation of investment funds. He regularly acts for both U.S. and non-U.S. managers, sponsors, and investors covering a wide range of funds, incentive schemes, and co-investment arrangements.

Parikshit focuses on the organization, structuring and ongoing management of domestic and international private equity investment funds, joint ventures, separate accounts, co-investments, secondary offerings and other structures that focus on a wide variety of asset classes, including real estate, infrastructure, buyout, credit, growth, and venture. He also advises on operational, compensation and regulatory matters, relating to internal GP arrangements, GP-led secondaries, Volcker Rule, Securities Act, Investment Company Act, and Advisers Act. He routinely counseling on spin-outs, establishment of new asset management businesses, seeding arrangements, and joint-ventures.

His experience spans the entire range of investment funds activity and includes more than 15 years’ experience advising many of the industry’s largest and most prominent fund sponsors.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Parikshit gained global big law experience from several firms, including positions as partner, leading an investment funds practice, launching a U.S. funds practice, and co-founding the New York office of a top-tier global law firm. He has also practiced law in Singapore and London for several years.

Representative experience

A number of leading sponsors including Macquarie Bank, First Sentier Investors (formerly First State), Qualitas, PAI Partners, Triton Partners, Investec, among others, on fund formation transactions.

A number of institutional investors including Washington State Investment Fund, Adam Street Partners, Allianz, and several U.S. pension plans on their investments across a number of asset classes.
