Christian Tinnefeld combines expert knowledge in legal counseling of data privacy, data regulation, artificial intelligence (AI), cyber security and IT related matters with excellent skills in policy and contract drafting and negotiating. He is experienced in representing his clients at Data Protection Authorities and other administrative bodies, as well as data and cyber litigation. Christian is passionate about running client workshops and seminars on data privacy, data regulation, AI and IT subjects.
In data regulation matters, Christian is an expert for digital projects, EU Data Act implementation, AI governance and AI regulation advice. His data protection and data privacy compliance practice is cross-sector (with a focus on Technology, Media, and Online Retail) and covers international data transfers, internal investigations, the processing of customer and health data, personal management tools (HR data), CCTV and call recordings, website compliance, and online marketing. He supports clients in different industries in establishing or revising data protection management systems, policy work, documentation, and workflows. Christian co-heads the German Task Force on data protection at the workplace who has recently launched the “Employee Data Protection Hub” on the Hogan Lovells Engage knowledge platform.
In IT and cybersecurity related matters, he advises clients in cyber preparedness and cyber response projects, and IT-security law (NIS-2 regulation, Cyber Resilience Act). His IT contract practice supports both, international and national IT service providers, and companies requesting such IT services. Christian's expertise covers full scope of IT contracts, particularly IT projects, software licensing, cloud computing, hosting contracts, software development, IT service contracts, and hardware purchase agreements.
