Bastian Englisch advises national and international companies in the energy sector and aviation industry, medical device manufacturers and telecommunications companies. His main practice areas are patent litigation, technology transfer and licensing law.
A further focus of his practice is advising on employee invention law issues both in the context of court disputes and in the course of M&A transactions.
Bastian studied law at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg and at Seattle University School of Law and received his LL.M. in intellectual property law from the University of Cape Town. He first joined Hogan Lovells in the course of his legal clerkship in the intellectual property practice group of Hogan Lovells in Hamburg. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells as a lawyer, he inter alia worked in the Hamburg office of a major international law firm specializing in litigation in the field of intellectual property law as legal clerk and research assistant.

Representation of an international consumer goods manufacturer in patent infringement and revocation proceedings in the field of packaging technology.
Advising Honeywell on IP and employee invention law issues in the acquisition of Transnorm, an international producer of conveyor modules.
Advising Ford Motor Company in IP matters on Volkswagen AG’s US$2.6bn investment into Ford’s autonomous vehicle platform company, Argo AI.
Representation of a company in several employee invention law disputes in the field of aircraft components.
Advising a manufacturer of wind turbines, in particular in connection with technology licensing and development contracts.
Advising an international telecommunications company regarding various licensing agreements.
